Directions:
From Miami International Airport
(MIA)
As you leave the airport head East on ramp, take LeJeune Rd. (SW
42nd Ave.) SOUTH. You will drive through the Coral Gables business
district, and cross US 1 (S. Dixie Hwy.). Continue on LeJeune Rd. in
residential area to roundabout. Enter roundabout and take 2nd right onto
Old Cutler Rd. Fairchild is exactly two miles from the roundabout.
Entrance will be on your left. Estimated driving time: 31 minutes.
Distance: 8.8 miles.
From the north or Miami Beach
Take I-95 south to US 1 (S. Dixie Hwy.) Go south on US 1 to SW 42nd Ave.
(LeJeune Rd.). Turn left on
SW 42nd Ave., and drive south to roundabout. Enter roundabout and take
2nd right onto Old Cutler Rd.
Drive 2 miles on Old Cutler Road. Fairchild entrance will be on your
left. Estimated driving time: 40 minutes. Distance: approximately
18 miles.
Alternate driving directions
from the north
I-95 South, State Road 836 West, LeJeune Road South, cross US 1
(S. Dixie Hwy). Continue on LeJeune Rd. to roundabout. Enter roundabout
and take 2nd right onto Old Cutler Rd. Fairchild is exactly two miles
from the roundabout. Entrance will be on your left.
From the south or the Florida Keys
Take US 1 (S. Dixie Hwy.) north to SW 152 Street (Coral Reef
Drive). Turn right, heading east on 152 Street to Old Cutler Road. Turn
left onto Old Cutler Road heading north. Drive past SW 120 Street and to
the intersection of SW 57 Avenue (Red Rd.) and Old Cutler Road. Turn
right on to Old Cutler Road and continue north for one mile. Fairchild
entrance will be on your right.
From Key Largo the estimated driving time is: 1 hour, 42 minutes.
Distance: approximately 58 miles.
From northwest of Miami
Take highway I-75 to highway 826. Go south on 826 to
Sunset Drive. Exit at Sunset Drive east, and drive east on Sunset to its
end at a roundabout. Enter the roundabout and take your 1st right on to
Old Cutler Road. You will see a sign for Fairchild Tropical Botanic
Garden. Drive south two miles from the roundabout to Fairchild. The
entrance will be on your left.
Public
Transportation:
Limited Miami-Dade Transit bus service is available to Fairchild in
the morning and from Fairchild in late afternoon.

There is NO BUS SERVICE ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.

This bus route links to the Douglas Road Metrorail Station. The
trip to Fairchild from the Metrorail station takes approximately 20
minutes.
You must let the bus driver know that you want to get off at the
Fairchild entrance as there is not a signed stop. Departure
bus stop is located by the Visitor Entrance on Old Cutler Road.
Taxi
Service:
Hailing a cab on the streets of Miami isn't easy. Most people drive
their own cars or rent one. There are plenty of taxis queued up at the
airport. Taxi service is available from Metrorail stations -
Dadeland South
or Dadeland North ($13-15); Douglas Road ($14-16).
To get a cab anywhere else, it's best to call ahead. We have found
Yellow Cab, 305/666-6668, to provide reliable service to Fairchild.
